Captain Dan Tastic… Friendly, Fun and Fantastic!

Ahoy there…..Looking for a pirate entertainer for your child’s birthday party, then look no further! We hired Captain Dan Tastic for our son’s 3rd birthday party and were blown away with how successful the party was and how much our son and his friends, both boys and girls, enjoyed the show.

Captain Dan & Harry

Having to organise our first proper party for 15 kiddies, I think I was a little disillusioned as to how much entertainment the children needed. I thought a few games of musical bumps and some balloon making would go down a treat….Thankfully my husband disagreed with me and suggested we get a professional in so I started my research. Harry wanted a pirate party and Captain Dan Tastic was relatively easy to find amongst the google searches. After a phone call and a couple of hearty emails Captain Dan was booked and keeping in character all the way through the booking process I was beginning to get more excited than our son!

Captain Dan arrived on time and was set up in minutes. He was armed with a huge array of props including treasure chests, costumes (including a hilarious shark outfit), swords and skulls and had the children completely engaged from the start with his witty pirate accent and  interaction. Our party was primarily children between the ages of 2-4 with a couple of older boys but he was able to engage with all ages including the children who were taken aback at first and needed some time to warm up. He had many tricks up his sleeve and all pirate themes were covered. The children loved the magic tricks and I can honestly say the children were fully entertained for the whole show. Even the parents commented on how much fun they had!

I have never seen our son laugh and enjoy himself as much, seeing him with his friends mesmorised by Captain Dan and his party tricks was just a complete joy to watch. Harry’s highlight was when Captain Dan allowed the children to squirt him with a water gun, the kids loved it. I would not hesitate recommending him to anyone looking for a fantastic kids entertainer. So much so we will definitely use him again in the future.

Hi!

Welcome to my world and my MummyBee blog. Thank you for taking the time to read it! My name is Melissa, I am married, in my early Thirties and have two young boys, 3 year old Harry and 9 month old Jack.

The aim of my blog is primarily a personal one, to basically take time out from the non-stop rollercoaster ride and the ups and downs of parenting two children. To hopefully give me a little time to re-cap and reflect on daily life and to think about my parenting skills and how I can improve on being a mummy. Since having my second baby, I have struggled with the demands of looking after two young children, feelings of guilt, feeling unorganised, lack of control at times and having virtually no time for myself have all played a part. All these things have created a slight imbalance and I have been trying to gain control ever since!

I thoroughly enjoy being a mummy to my scrummy boys, they are my first thoughts in the morning and my last thoughts at night and like any parent I love them to the moon and back. However I would be lying if I sat here and said I never moaned about the daily struggles of caring for two children, I cope because I am lucky to have a good support network around me but I still don’t mind admitting that I do not wish to see my children between the hours of 8pm to 6am! 🙂 This is my time to re-charge my batteries, catch up with the hubby, rest and as of now write my blog. In doing so I hope this blog will remind me to stop and pause, to take count and appreciate everything I have and to remember no matter how hard and tiring looking after my boys is.. to “bee” happy! If I can reach out to any other mums in a similar situation who are like minded and enjoy the honest truths about parenting then that would be great.

I will post things of interest… hopefully. I will write about things we do in our local area along with reviews of child friendly places, entertainment including restaurants and cafes. We enjoy reading, going to the theatre, walking and exploring the outdoors, eating homemade treats, and of course trains, planes and any other automobiles! Not to forget dinosaurs and pirates 🙂

And on that note, stay tuned for a review on a highly recommended pirate party entertainer, Captain Dan Tastic!
